Basics: what note is this?

The simplest thing a pitch tracker does. Give CREPE a single sustained note — hummed, sung, or played — and it reads the fundamental frequency out of every window and tells you the note: the pitch in Hz, the nearest key on a piano, and how many cents sharp or flat you are. Record yourself, or pick a sample.

How the note is read

CREPE gives a 360-bin pitch salience per window; we take the confidence-weighted peak → a frequency in Hz, then the median across the voiced frames of your note (so a little wobble doesn't change the answer). The nearest equal-tempered note is round(69 + 12·log₂(f/440)); the leftover is the cents deviation — 100 cents is one semitone, so ±50 cents is exactly between two keys. Everything runs locally in a Web Worker.
